The Big Weekends are typically Friday to Monday weekend breaks packed with live music of a particular theme (Scroll down for a guide to the types of themes on offer). Exclusively over 18s only, therefore an ideal break to get away and let your hair down. Expect to hear themed music throughout the day and night, as well as the odd comedy act.
Costumes at the ready! Everywhere you look there will be Psychedelic suits / dresses, Frill Shirts, Flares, GoGo Dresses, Jump Suits, Hippies, Pink Ladies, T-Birds, Pilots/Hostesses, Police/Fire Officers, Army/Navy/RAF, Geeks, Famous Musicians / Celebrities / Movie Characters, Mario Brothers, Bananas in Pyjamas, Neon accessories, Afros, Divas, the list is endless. These weekends have become a tradition for fancy dress as random as your imagination takes you.

What to expect ...

50s and 60s Rock & Roll

Live music from 50s and 60s, Dance workshops, Iconic films from the eras showing in the cinema, 50s and 60s themed activities including "Best dressed" and quizzes, Q and A sessions with the stars.

Festival of the 60s

We Love the 70s

Butlins brings the big, bold and brash Glam Rock era back in all its stomping glory. Relive the days when Wizzard, Slade and the Quo ruled. Rock out to tribute acts Abba Rival and 'TooREX' and strut your outrageous stuff in sky-high platforms and head-to-toe glitter.

Absolute 80s Weekender

Please note the following changes to the Butlins Adult Break terms and conditions.

Arrival / Departure times - Guests are welcome to arrive at Butlins from 1pm on the day of their break, but please note that the break finishes at 11am on the Monday to ensure the right environment is made when switching back to a family break that afternoon.

Resort access - Guests will need to bring some photo ID with them (passport or photo driving licence are fine) as they will need to be shown at check in so that each wristband can be allocated to the correct guests.

Fancy dress guidelines - A big part of the fun on some of the breaks is seeing all of the guests in their incredible fancy dress outfits.  We don't want to be the fun police but please remember when planning your outfits, we have a wide range of team members and guests from all walks of life on our resorts and would hate for you to offend anyone.    All we ask is that you use your common sense when you are planning your costumes.  Here are some pointers... avoid anything that can be seen as racially or sexually offensive; don't wear anything (including T shirts) that has bad language on it; don't dress up as a celebrity / someone who has committed a criminal act; don't use the Butlin's logo or brand on your outfits / T shirts.  If any of these guidelines are not met, you will be asked to return to your accommodation and get changed.

Alcohol / drugs policy - Butlins are committed to responsible drinking and will confiscate any excessive alcohol at the caravan entrance during your break.  Guests may bring up to 12 440ml cans of lager, beer or cider or 6L of lager or cider in plastic bottles or a 3L box of wine per guest or one (maximum 700ml) bottle of spirit per guest.  Guests may bring this with them on arrival to the weekend only, there is no re-entry of alcohol.  Please be aware that for licensing reasons only drinks bought in the venue bars may be consumed in the venues.  Also, you can not take drinks from one venue to another.  Butlins have a zero tolerance policy on drugs.  Anyone found taking illegal drugs or any other illegal substance will be asked to leave the resort and will not receive refund for any part of their break.
